Business intelligence (BI) is essential to running today's business. BI enables businesses to make informed decisions and turn data into profits. Chinese economy continues to grow rapidly and Chinese businesses emphasize more on evidence-based decision making and some businesses take advantage of BI to gain competitive advantage. The IS field has paid increasing attentions to the research on the applications of BI and their impact on businesses. The future of BI research seems promising.
The purpose of this Sino-US doctoral workshop is to provide a communication platform for doctor students from both Chinese universities and US universities to work on BI and related topics. It is our sincere hope that there will form a synergy between the western and eastern cultures and research traditions.
